What is MonsoonSIM Enterprise Resource Planning Competition?

MonsoonSIM Enterprise Resource Planning Competition is a yearly inter-varsity competition hosted by MonsoonSIM and its partners. The competition is a high-energy event involving students and lecturers with the objective of exposing students to the concept of enterprise resource planning (ERP) through fun and exciting simulation games.

Students who come together in teams of five (5) will be assigned to run a virtual company to compete with other virtual companies. Players will LEARN --- all at the same time -- how to run a large virtual enterprise and COMPETE with other teams to achieve a set of business targets.

This event is brought to all universities by:

  • SAP Asia Pacific, as our main prize sponsor
  • SUSS, as our regional hosting co-sponsor
  • MonsoonSIM Pty Ltd (Australia), provider of MonsoonSIM Enterprise Simulation and Gaming Platform

The following countries are participating:

  • Indonesia National Competition to be hosted by UMY (Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta)
  • Malaysia National Competition to be hosted by APU (Asia Pacific University, Kuala Lumpur)
  • Singapore National Competition to be hosted by SUSS (Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore)
  • Philippines National Competition to be hosted (TBD)
  • Thailand National Competition to be hosted by (TBD)
  • Hong Kong National Competition to be hosted by (TBD)

GENERAL RULES (Regional Semi and Grand Final)

  • Must register with five (5) players per team. In the event that any of the players could not participate for any reasons, the players can be replaced by maximum of two (2) players.

  • Every player can only join one team. 

  • Strictly for students only.

  • Players are not allowed to get help or assistance from anybody outside the competition room in any manners, directly or indirectly using connection services/phone/media etc. Infringement of any of the above will cause participation to be revoked and all winning will be considered void.

  • Committee decision is final in the event of a dispute of any kinds.

  • Committee reserved the rights to amend, add, remove any participation or rules when the need arises.

  • Can the same person represent 2 teams ? No

  • Can a non-students participate ? No

  • What is the minimum internet speed needed? 3 Mb up/down and above.

  • What is the maximum teams allowed per playoff ? 10

  • Can I run less than 12 modules in Campus playoff? Recommended 12 but you can run 8 since this option is open at the campus level.

  • Can I run with Wifi instead of connected cable? Yes, as long as the internet speed is optimum.

  • Do I need to buy MonsoonSIM license to conduct campus competition? Yes

  • What is TTT? TTT is a 2-day program run by Monsoon Academy to certified a MonsoonSIM facilitator.

  • Since MonsoonSIM is cloud base, can I run the game remotely? Yes, but not during competition.
